Jeff Bennett - W0WKP | President
Growing up I was introduced to Amateur Radio by my grandpa Gerald (GC) Bennett. Over the years my interest in the hobby grew but unfortunately I never became serious about acquiring a license. I was always amazed how grandpa could talk with others literally hundreds of miles away not to mention on the other side of the globe. It was not until after grandpa passed away that I decided to get involved. I have been licensed since January 2006. Currently I am interested in APRS, Storm Spotting and eventually DXing.

Mike Wasserstein - KB0DNP | Vice President
Though I am personally fairly new to Amateur Radio, I grew up with Amateur Radio. My Dad (KB0DNP) (sk) was a Ham on and off for about 40 years. My mom (KB0GZX) received her Technician Plus in 2000 and my Uncle Paul (WA0UME) has been in Amateur Radio for many years.

I received my Technician ticket (KC0WPQ) in May of 2006. My Amateur Extra was granted on March 2, 2007. My current call sign KB0DNP was issued on March 26, 2007. My mom was very proud to see my dad’s call sign back on the air again.

I have been married to Lydia (KC0WWR) for 23 years. We have two children, Rebekah (19) and Sarah (16). My interests in Amateur Radio are very diverse. I have tried APRS (built a Tiny Tracker III), Packet, Foxhunting ( a few times), IRLP, public service events, Skywarn storm spotting, and my current favorite, HF and DXing.

Heather Poysa KD0BXA | Secretary
I am excited to be on the board. I have a younger Sister who is still in college. I also have a cat named Mr. Boots that I love and adore.

I became interested in HAM radio when my dad was studying for his license. Once I graduated from college in 2007 I became more introduced to the hobby. That year I attended field day and loved every minute of it. I then started studying and got my license that October. Since then I have felt that the Lincoln Amateur Radio Club has become a second family to me. In January 2008 I was asked if I wanted to be a net controller for the Saturday night Net, after I had the chance to fill in once. I was so nervous because I had my license for only 2 months but I was very excited and jumped at the chance. I love being a trained storm spotter and being deployed when severe weather occurs. During the spring and summer I enjoyed all of the public service events. The triathlons at Holmes Lake and the Duncan Triathlon, Nebraska State Games, and the Crop Walk, just to name a few. I also helped out with the Annual Auction.

Carla Dawson - KC0DFR | Treasurer
I have served on the LARC Board of Directors for the last four years and have served as Club Treasurer for the past three years. During this period, our membership has grown past the 300 mark and I will work to continue our growth. This year, we had a great group of Board members and I was proud to serve with them.
I am active in Club activities, such as public service and have helped with many events this year. If you monitor the storm-spotter nets on the club repeater, you have heard my call from KLKN-TV where I have been the ARES liaison. I believe that public service is important to the club, the community and the future of ham radio,
I have been on the organizing committee for the LARC Spring Convention/Hamfest for the past three years and have been instrumental in setting up systems for on-site registration, website promotion and website pre-registration.
In 2009 I passed my General Class test and participated in this year’s ARRL November Sweepstake contest where Marla and I entered as a multi-op station.
I am married to Joe, KBØLQR, and we have two lovely daughters: Marla, KDØHYW and Jolene.

Scotty Long - N0AZN | Board Member
I have been very active in aviation earning my private pilot certificate in 1983 and in that same year enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. I served as an aircraft mechanic and Plane Captain on AV8B Harrier II aircraft. I am a Desert Storm Veteran and very happy that I could serve my country and I am very, very proud of all of our veterans. Thank you to all the veterans, police, fire and emergency service crews for your service and dedication to our country. After leaving the military I earned my A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) mechanic license and my IA (Inspection Authorization) from the FAA as well as becoming an aircraft electrician and avionics installation master tech for a number one FBO (Fixed Base Operator). I currently work as a Chief Inspector for a major FBO as well as serving as the Avionics Installations Manager. My main purpose in life is to praise God and help others through all the gifts he has given me. I love spending time with my wife and kids and playing with and building ham radio equipment. I hold an Amateur Extra Class License and really enjoy HF/VHF CW as well as other digital modes. I am a proud member of the ARRL, Lincoln Amateur Radio Club as well as the North American QRP/CW Club life member, No. 3715, and Straight Key Century Club Member (SKCC) No. 5880. I QSL 100% with cards so if I talk to you on the air please send one my way as well.
